Can this girl sing or what? I'm a big fan of Helen Forest, Ella Fitzgerald,Billy Holiday, etc etc, but the tone of Connie's voice is sublime. I stumbled across her when listening to Woody Herman and I'm so glad I did.

Connee is the business!!!She can do hot, mellow, but always swinging. One of the greats. And Oh Martha! is one of the hottest female vocals ever. Easy to see how she inspired Ella.

The Boswell Sisters were one of the first, and in the opinion of many the best, of the singing sister trios, who recorded with some of the cream of New York's session men and produced superb swinging songs, long before the Swing Era. When the group retired as such, Connie kept going, and this superb 2-CD set contains some of her best-known recordings.

Six feature her in duets with Bing Crosby, two of which come from radio broadcasts, as do three of her solo tracks. The two sides she recorded in London with Ambrose in July 1935 are included, as is her recording with The Ramblers the following month.

Full discographical details and an excellent liner note by Geoff Milne complete the package.
