There is much to like about this album, but each track seems to be cut short before being properly developed. The result is something that feels like a sketch book, where a lot of interesting things have been scribbled down and then everything has been thrown in, rather than refining and developing just a few of them into something more exciting. It could have been great, but instead is just a curiosity.
Experimental great first album and you need to see his live performance as he is a interesting slice of energy with a slight crazy angle. Great to watch incomparison with most electronic solo performers out there and looking forward to hearing more of his compositions with the other master of experimental works Gonjasufi. If you like WARP lable stuff you will apprieciate this one
Think gaslamp killer might be better as a live experience, another CD I've bought based on seeing the act live on tv from Glastonbury. It's alright, seems like a bit of filler, and also can be one tiresome after a few listens. Was so looking forward to this.
So, Nissim is the tune that makes this album for me. I love it and literally can't stop listening to it. I have lied the rest of the album but can take or leave some songs. Nissim however, i wish he did an album of just tunes like that. The album feels rough and edgy (in a good way). definitely worth a punt.
