Great Shaver from Braun
12 August 2017
I've been using electric shavers for over 20 years and this one is probably the best yet. I initially just bought this Braun as a second shaver, to keep in the caravan, to save the hassle of moving a shaver from one location to another, but after using it at home a couple of times it was obviously much better than my Philips triple headed rotary shaver that I thought was great.
I thought the foil head might take a bit of getting used to but it didn't; it gives a very comfortable, close shave. Much closer than I expected; I think you would have to go some to find a closer electric shave and it's quick too.
This may be because my skin, although sensitive, is used to the electric experience.
The Braun shaves close; very close, and deals with my own problem areas, under the jaw bone and close under the nose, with ease.
Battery life is impressive too. I shave for about 3.5 minutes every day and I charge it once every 14 days so it's just about good enough or a two week holiday without the charger. Charge time is about 55 minutes.
The shaver is very powerful and I haven't experienced any hair pulling or snagging that sometimes occurs with lower powered shavers. The trade off is, I think, that some may find it a little heavy and it is certainly substantial in the hand although I love it.
I love the floating shaving head, which you can lock if you wish, as I find it follows the contours of the face and jaw perfectly.
It's easy to clean and said to be 100% waterproof. I wouldn't know about that as I never shave in the shower and nor do I use any shaving creams or lubricants, preferring to shave dry.
At £88 it's not the cheapest shaver out there but it's certainly very good value and will not be sent to the caravan as a second shaver. It's too good for that. I will be buying another one the same to use there. Buy it, you won't regret it I'm sure.
