This CD set seems unduly stripped down.

There is no descriptive booklet, and no track durations !

The title I found misleading: Discs 1 and 2 tracks, all played by Andres Segovia, are straight classical, it seems, and Disc 3 tracks, all played by Ramon Montoya, apparently mostly not classical.

I like (atmospheric) Spanish guitar music, but was disappointed with the coverage of this CD set, that is presented as being essential (listening, presumably).

So (speaking as a definite amateur), I would say ... beware !

Three CDs for just over a fiver - this is a real bargain and a great sampler of 50s and eary 60s classic Chicago blues, mainly from Chess records. All the greats are here Muddy, Wolf, SBW, Little Walter, Jimmy Reed, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush, plus you also get some excellent supporting players - Jimmy Rogers, Eddie Boyd, Junior Wells, Lowell Fulson, Willie Mabon, Magic Sam, Walter Horton, James Cotton and Billy Boy Arnold. There are real classics like Wolf's "Red rooster" and Jimmy Reed's "Bright lights big city" and also more obscure tracks like "You don't treat me right" by Guitar Shorty and John Brim's "Be careful what you do".

This would be bargain at twice this price!

If you like Blues music, it is unlikely that you will get better value for money than this 3 CD set. Very light on 'filler' tracks, lots of great classics - you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic, can't believe this box set is so good. There's isn't a bad track on the whole thing and it's one of the best blues albums I've ever heard.

Am just getting into blues and found this one had a lot of blues standards with not too many fillers.

This CD is full of talent, very creative guitar arrangements.
