This is probably the weakest release from this band. with the most gooey but still bouncy songs of their career. The hit single 'goody goody gumdrops' gives you a idea of what this is like. however it is band music made by real musicians. I would suggest the great ' greatest hits' cd from this group. There are some incredible songs on that one. This was aimed at younger buyers and this type of music was gone by 1972 but at least it's real and not slop like techno , which is made with a machine and has no soul. However if you are really into yourself , you might not like this simple music aimed at young listeners of the late sixties. But in spite of that there's some solid songs on here. Their next one 'indian giver' which was top five hit was a lot better. They call this stuff bubblegum music , but it is fun and made by humans. It would not be something that you'd put on to impress people , but to hear some fun and silly songs. In spite of that , this group came up with some songs that would be at home on more serious records. the album 'hard ride' has a few rockers on it. But I would say that if you are better served with a greatest hits package. This one is for someone who wants a taste of a long ago time , a time where a few artists just made simple songs and could care less about being relative. And wants a record from that era as well. the rest should grab a greatest hits cd. That one will make you and your kids smile.
