I'd previously been using my Wharfedale separates package (consisting of the amp, CD, tuner and tape deck), which I bought waaaaay back in 2002.
I've recently bought my first home, and thought now was the perfect time to upgrade the system. Essentially I wanted something that would accept phono input from my TV, optical from my iMac (iTunes), and play CDs. The radio would be an added bonus.
This system does all I needed, plus offers Dab radio. It's compact, attractive, simple to use, easy to set-up (and customise your bass/treble levels, etc) and sounds great.
It's hooked up to some Eltax tower speakers that I've owned since 2001, which I thought would need replacing, but I think I can keep them, as I swear my music sounds so much better coming from this Denon rather than the Wharfedale. I'm no audiophile, I just like playing house music, and it sounds great.
I also have it connected via my TV / PS3 (audio cables from TV to Denon, HDMI from PS3 to TV), and watching movies and playing games sound great, too! Just like my music, it sounds better than before.
It worth noting that the cable for the radio isn't overly long, but it does the job well - I have loads of stations available now.
There remote control doesn't look as nice as the silver system, but it's clearly laid out and easy to use, if a little long.
All in all I'm very happy with this, and would recommend it to anyone needing an upgrade with a fair budget.
