So Pink's back, but she doesn't just walk back into the wolrd of music, she comes charging back in!
This is clearly a new direction for Pink and i admit i really wasn't sure upon first listen, but now i love it.
She starts off the new album with ARE WE ALL WE ARE,it does indeed make it clear she's back.
Next we have new single BLOW ME (ONE LAST KISS),a great song, very Pink, but a little different.
TRY will soon get you singing along without really trying,JUST GIVE ME A REASON moves things along nicely.
TRUE LOVE had me worried with LILY ALLEN being featured, but in all fairness it's a great song and i had no problems with LILY''s vocals (thankfully short) for a change.
HOW COME YOU'RE NOT HERE asks questions, another great track.
SLUT LIKE YOU i suspect could be one of those tracks that a lot of people just find annoying,Pink's viscious tongue turns into a whooping chorus that kind of sounds very girly and irritating at first, but it's grown on me to the stage i'm shamelessly singing along, whooping and all.
THE TRUTH ABOUT LOVE is another winner,Pink, but again a new Pink,a fresh Pink, really catchy and surely a big hit in the future.
BEAM ME UP is pink proving she can indeed sing beautifully,it's one of those soft ones and nicely done.
WALK OF SHAME will no doubt get better with every listen, still getting to know this one,but i kind of like it.
HERE COMES THE WEEKEND featuring EMINEM,yep, you heard right EMINEM,it's a great track that really works, shows the new direction and isn't ashmaed of it.
Finally we have WHERE DID THE BEAT GO,which soon becomes a musical friend for your head and THE GREAT ESCAPE,well you know what? i think she might've got away with this, great closer.
It's an album that upon first listen had me wondering what she's done, then i realized, she's come back with a fresh sound, even her vocals sound different.
But with a sound that soon becomes something special,i've no complaints, welcome back Pink.
Just to state,i did get the deluxe edition, and as much as i like the new tracks, there's only 4 and they would easily have fitted onto the 50 minute album, very naughty, but i suppose a great EP for a few quid is a way of looking at the dodgy sales ploy.
I'm not impressed with this recent deluxe edition thing, when it's only a few tracks in most cases, but i doubt the artists themselves have anything to do with it. I do like this 4 track disc though and would say it's worth it if you can forgive the naughty sales tactic. Get a great album, get THE TRUTH ABOUT LOVE.
