An interesting look into military life in the distant future. Regiment 14 has found that rare blend of good character development and some truly addictive world building. The story is told through the eyes of various members of Regiment 14 as they go about their day to day lives, training, exploring their universe and gearing up for war. There's love, loss and yes - cake. My only criticism is that there's not enough of it, by the time I was finished I was hungry for more (story that is, not cake). But that's a very good problem to have! I'd recommend this to anyone looking for something with a unique twist on the sci-fi genre, or anybody that enjoys the subtle anarchy of British humour.
