Pleasantly written but overlong and lacks pace
on 11 March 2017
This book is quite pleasantly written apart from the occasional error in the text. It is based on a true story, and I am glad that it is only BASED on a true story, because a lot of it seems to be made up. It is not particularly gripping as suggested in the title, despite being a 'sexed up' account of what actually happened to the author. Still, it is commendable that he has written a readable book and is selling it so cheaply on Amazon. The worst thing about it for me was the length, but that is a criticism I make of most top-rated Hollywood films, too. Everything these days needs editing. There were far too many unnecessary passages in this book that made the story drag on and on. I am not a fan of James Paterson, but he is very skilled in maintaining a fast pace in his work, so David Perlmutter and his editor might want to take a look.
