This album is a little like the Tarantino movie Inglourious Basterds - showing unparalled brilliance in some parts (Tubular Bells, Ommadawn, Ascension) while managing to be truly awful in others (Family Man, Five Miles Out, Shadow On The Wall).
Overall, of course, it is worth buying, in the same way as the film's scenes with the superb Christoph Waltz overcame those turkeys with Brad Pitt to make a trip to the cinema worthwhile.
