This and the subsequent books in the trilogy were truly spellbinding for me. The author’s style and imagination in my experience surpass the vast majority of science fiction / fantasy works I have read and I cannot recommend these books highly enough. Only Tolkien give him a run for his money but the work is different in so many respects. Radix by the same author also falls in to the same category and I’m looking forward to reading more of his novels in the near future. If you’re a fan of the genre, you won’t be disappointed if you get the chance to read these novels.
It took me a good few chapters to get into this book, but I'm glad I stuck with it. The storyline is very good, takes a few unexpected turns and the world is believable. Looking forward to starting the next in the series! There are a lot of typos towards the end and L's suddenly change to I's. Hopefully that will get sorted in the future though
