For me this brilliant, beautiful and poetic album represents the artistic peak of Paul Simon's impressive recording career. The songs are excellent throughout including such gems as 'Diamonds on the soles of Her Shoes' and 'You Can Call Me Al' and there is the impressive and at times inspired musical backing from Ladysmith Black Mambazo and other South African musicians. This record gives a lie to the widespread belief that great rock records are only made by under forties. Also included are different versions of some of the songs and a bonus DVD.

Superb DVD so far 2hrs of great background info, Political intervention and narrow minded Politicians who were just so pathetically stupid, instead of realising that this guy had no dam axe to grind and was helping them expose the apartheid regime, and they got it all wrong.

We were living in South Africa at the time of this recording and the sounds are very reminiscent of the time and place.
It is probably one of those 'you had to be there' tmies. However, fans S&G should love it.
