Steer Well Clear of These Products
on 6 June 2014
First off, I should say that I had purchased this item from elsewhere, so I am not actually slating the seller, but more so the product itself. You should take into consideration the following info before purchasing:
1 Yes, the goods may be "Brand New" and will probably come with 12 Month Guarantees, although these items are "Discontinued Stock" and to my knowledge Archos\Arnova are no longer as one.
2. The lack of support available for this item, not if, but when it does go wrong is painstakingly terrible.
3. The Majority of Problems will stem from Overheating, due to the Flimsy Plastic Shell it's housed in. If this item is left to charge overnight, you could quite possibly return to a dead machine like I did. The display itself shows signs of that which looks like a "Cracked Screen" (Basically what some mobile phones suffer from now and then) this could be caused by the overheating, or being too firm with the touch display)
4. When sending it back to Arnova, they have outsourced a team of individuals who have no clue to what they are doing, and all correspondence appears to come from over in France. There is no way in which to respond to their emails which gets into your email box, as they come with "Do Not Reply" responses, so you can never get to actually state your argument fairly, if you feel that the item is faulty. Your just made to take the offer of 25% Discount, off the cost of purchasing another Arnova Tablet from them. Basically there is no other tablet comparable to 10b G3, which would be as low as £100 even after the 25% discount is applied. Therefore you are made to either pay another £100+ over goods that are known to be defective, and is a common problem along the entire Arnova range of tablets, or you make do with downgrading to a 7" Version, in which sooner or later will no doubt develop problems of it's own.
The real kick in the teeth is the fact that even if you do accept 25% Discount, you have to surrender your old 10.1" tablet to them, before you would get the 25% knocked off a "New" one. Needless to say, your old goods, are being used as scrap, to build a duff refurbished product for someone else, who will end up having issues with it when they purchase a 10.1" tablet for £59.99 thinking they have a good deal!!
Bottom line is, if you buy one, expect problems, if your looking to get some money back, or at least more than what you would get from a 25% Part Ex Discount Offer from Arnova, then either sell it on eBay for spares and repairs, or buy and replace a new display yourself. From what I am told, Any 10" Display from the Archos\Arnova 10x Range will fit the 10b G3 Device, so could be worth looking into rather than waste time with "Tech Support" as they are anything but!!!
