I got this for my daughter who just turned two last month and absolutely loves it.
If you're like me and wondering between this and the Lego Duplo ones, I feel these are a much better value for money for roughly the same quality. Yes I know Lego is probably a more "famous" brand, but I don't believe in paying almost twice as much just because of the brand name.
The blocks are made of sturdy plastic and look like they can take quite a bit of a hit (my daughter tends to build towers and then knock them down!) and are quite chunky so they're safe enough for young children (as opposed to the Lego / Lego Technic ones aimed at slightly older children).
The pack comes with around 60 blocks (I haven't counted them) in different assortments such as 1x1, 1x2, 1x3, 1x4, 2x2 with some of them in single and some double block-heights. This pack consists of blocks that are pink, light pink, blue, green and white (with pink being the majority).
Given the size of each block, 60 is an okay number to play with, without needing to buy another pack.
Slightly older children may be disappointed with the assortment (and colours) of these blocks, but in my experience, this should be ideal 2-4 year olds as a first block set.
Great value 60 piece set for younger children. My daughter has used this from 10 months where obviously lego would have been a choking hazard and much more difficult to use. The large blocks are easier for her to use, are sturdy and of good quality. The bright colour scheme helps engage her attention and playing with her certainly seems to have helped her motor skills.
Overall, great value lego equivalent for younger children and good fun!
I have bought two of these over the last few weeks, firstly the blue set as a gift for my friends twins and my daughter went crazy for them so I have bought her a set too! She had them when she was much younger and has suddenly fallen in love with them again. They can be quite hard to get hold of and if you do find them it’s hard to get a good price so I would definitely recommend these!
Although I bought these for my grandson, I had a lot of fun playing with them too. The blocks are large and easy to handle for small hands and the variety of shapes and colours allows all manner of creations to be built. The blocks are compatible with other Mega Bloks sets, and these make a good addition if you already have Mega Blocks to allow bigger models to be created (or in my grandsons view - destroyed). The ziplock carry bag is reusable for storing the blocks away after playtime. I also bought this blue version of this set. Disclaimer the photo is three sets of Mega Bloks mixed together to create a tower of this size.
My one year old daughter is too young at the moment to build the blocks herself, but she loves taking them apart after I've built them for her, plus toppling them over. I find the blocks very easy to connect and take apart and I think this item will be used even more as my daughter gets older. Can't fault it.
I love these more than my 1yr old daughter as i build a magnificent tower and she knocks it down laughs and runs away. It is a hard thankless task building the megabuck towers for king kong Emma to destroy but she loves it.
I am sure your child will also as this is one of her most played with toys.
Kids just love these blocks. Bought as a gift for someone after I seen how much my daughter loved playing with them. They are a good size for small hands to hold onto and easy to out together. Hours of fun spent building towers, and even putting them in and out of the bag was a favourite!
