A good primer to further reading.

Hadn't come across this series before this book, but if this one is anything to go by then the others may be worth a little perusal.
I enjoy my history and going through the book I'd think " But what about such and such?" But the book isn't meant to be an encylopedia, It's more of a comprehensive collection of cramer notes to take you off on further reading.
There are some glaring omissions, both from a geographical and time standpoint. But then there also was when we were learning these things for the first time. Though that's what bookshops, libraries and the internet are for; to fill in those gaps and help you understand. If we don't learn from the past we're doomed to repeat those self same mistakes.
