Really sweet read, that wasn't the cliche'd 'been there, seen that' tale that I expected.

This is a modern romance that pretty much follows amazon's blurb. It is very well-written and the actual premise made it believable, but what surprised me is that it managed not to fall into the same trap of the many novels that have this same plot.
Sam clearly had a brain and had Eve sussed in a pretty short time, and when they realised the depth of their attraction for each other, they didn't waste time with irritating soul-searching/debating, and once they realised that they had feelings for each other, both of them came clear. Him about the fact that it was just a flippant, off-the-cuff remark that had led to his 'male-dating bible' and her that her friends had put her up to seducing him.
Perhaps their acceptance of each other was a bit too sugary sweet to be believable, but they seemed mature adults, so I went with it. Normally, I would have agreed that there should have been a sense of betrayal, anger, a break-up followed by a period of missing each other and getting back together, but this worked perfectly without, and the 'backstage' storyline that was going on in his tale for both leads, actually worked to bring them together.
Add in some hot, sexy love scenes, with my kind of HEA a few months down the line, and this was a very good read, one that I wouldn't have minded paying for.
