If you have already made the decision to go for the LeapPad2 then I would suggest that you also get the adapter. It really should be included with the Pad, as to my mind it is essential. The adapter allows you to use the pad while you charge and once you have insered the batteries there is no need to take them in and out again as they recharge in the pad. I had read previous reviews about poorly fitting adapters, but this seems to have been sorted with the LeapPad2 model.

This battery pack and adapter is really good it includes the batteries. you can still play the game while it is charging and once fully charged the power last a long time ,this one is specially made for the leappad and will save money in the long run on buying batteries ,I'm surprised they don't sell a full leappad kit which includes this.

This is a fantastic battery pack. A must for every leap frog owner. You'll get your money's worth with this item as standard batteries will last a few hours at most before they require replacing. Third battery pack lasts for a couple of days on a full charge. The leap frog can be used whilst the battery pack is being charged from the mains.

I bought this because my grandson was costing me a fortune in new batteries.
This is good because I charge it at night when he goes to bed - it only takes an hour or so (so long as you've not used all the charge)
Well worth the price in the long run and the leap pad is really helping him learn his letters and problem solving - he's learning and he's having fun.

This battery works perfectly and is needed as normal batteries only last a matter of minutes
this is NOT made clear when buying the leap pad so comes as an expensive surprise!

When my daughter opened hers on Christmas morning the excitement didn't last long when she realised she wouldn't be able to play with it until we could purchase the recharger pack and nor did mine when I saw the price! - be warned the necessary extras needed to get the full use out of the leap pad more than doubles the original purchase price

This item is for the Leapfrog explorer Leappad 2.

It came well wrapped and installed no problems.

The rechargable pac lasts easily 20+ hours making it overall a much better bargain than using normal batteries which seem to drain insanely fast.

At £25 I felt a tad conned as its essentially just 4 rechargable batteries and a transformer plug.

Superb addition, however I can only wonder why this was not standard and bundled with the leap pad as they eat batteries like nobodies business, it's like buying a car only to discover when lifting the bonnet there is no flamin engine!!!! Great charger but should have been with the leap pad from the start

Ideal, but priced a big high frankly, when you consider most grown up tablets etc come with integrated batteries and chargers. Just another way for leapfrog to make money. But much better than changing batteries every five minutes.
