Too large - I'm an UK 8.5 (I have measured my foot very carefully against a flat wall, and it's what fits me best from usual footwear - 8 is too small, while 9 leaves quite some room in front of the big toe and feels large), so I got the 9, since an 8 or a 9 is all I could choose between. I have room to wiggle the end of my foot (toes) in all directions as much as can and still not touch any of the inner sides of the shoe. It feels like in a ballroom inside - my foot is small and it's surrounded by empty space. It's fine if I wear it with two pairs of averagely thicker socks (thicker, not very puffy). So, the reported size is probably not exactly right, and I should've gotten an 8, which is usually too tight for me (that is exactly what I did last time I got work shoes and they were killing my toes). But you wouldn't be able to wear two pairs of socks in a warmer weather / environment - you'd sweat.
Near the end of the 11 hour work day, my feet do get tired of carrying me all day and I have that feeling like I'm walking on a hard surface barefoot, but it's not bad. They were just decent enough for the job I do which is standing still in one place, but I expected more comfort at this price - you get the same with half the price.
They smell awfully when you get them out of the box, and the box smells too, which is why I threw it away before I could decide to return these. I left them out to air one night and half of it did go away and it wasn't a problem in that I could wear them and not throw people off, but then I left them again one night and after all of this time (is it a month) it's still there, I can feel it from a meter above - it's the specific industrial plastic smell, or like a car mechanic would smell after a whole day's work - it's just intense but discrete at the same time - you don't know it's there unless it hits you. Update: I've left them out hanging on a line so they get more air, but I think they still smell a bit.
Here, in the UK, if you wear these to work like I do, you care about rain not getting through. I did catch one on the way home once and even made a run to the bus stop in them - my feet didn't get wet in those 10 minutes or so, but the socks didn't feel 100% dry either when I got home (not that they felt wet, just not perfectly dry). So they're just so-so and not made for the rainy weather here.
They feel heavy when you hold them, I imagine mostly because of the part you step on, but more lightweight than you expect when wearing them and walking around. 5/5
They feel pretty sturdy / lasting, so they are decent in regards of build quality. 5/5
Value wise I am more disappointed than happy at this price because I can imagine cheaper better ones although they might be less quality.
Conclusion: they're fine if you can match your foot. Mine is just a bit above 8 so I wasn't sure what size to get.
