As a big fan of Lau and Flook I always expected this to be an album of top notch musicianship and it certainly lives up to expectations! The first four tunes will blow you away! then things die down a little and become more mellow towars the end.
In all it's a nice mix of foot-tapping upbeat tunes and laid-back pieces: Whistle/ flutes and fiddle complement each other very nicely.
The use of a full drum kit gives the whole thing a bit of groove and although it won't be to everyone's taste, the playing is masterful and it certainly doesn't overpower the folk instruments.
I've been listening to it nearly everday for a month now and it's still brilliant.
