Disappointing writing as series progress
on 15 July 2016
Sadly whilst the characters are interesting, it is extremely disappointing that medical story arcs are no followed through, Various of the characters do things, such as serious disclosures to patients which would involve the hospital in enormous litigation, but all these potential stories disappear without further mention. Other store lines are overplayed in particular Kate Austin's story regarding her daughter. Very disappointing and showing the limitation of the writing. On the whole apart from the characters of Philip Watters, Diane Grad and perhaps Billy Kronk, one ends up not caring about the characters or being annoyed by them. The first two series were more entertaining and had a more effective mix of serious and comedy. I missed lead surgeon Arthur Thurmann and lawyer Alan Birch. There appeared to be genuine chemistry amongst cast members but this is distinctly lacking once you reach series 3. The series is all right but its limitations become irritating.
