Not bad, not perfect
on 5 May 2012
Not a bad case. Although the front is magnetic and holds closed against the iPad screen, it does NOT do the wake up / sleep thing when you open and close the front- at least not on ipad3 which I have.
The pen is a normal biro with a squidgy rubber tip on the top, rather like a soft pencil eraser. It works ok on the touch screen but not as well as a finger, sometimes failing to make the screen respond when a finger would have worked,
As a stand it only seems to work at one angle unless I am missing something.
BUT as I really just wanted a smart looking protective case for an ipad3, I got what I wanted. The reasons for giving it only 3 stars are that I think it should be able to do more and it claims a sleep sensor function that does not work. It turns out that apple changed the magnet alignment on ipad3s to how they used to be on ipad2s so All covers claiming to sleep/wake your device through magnets in the covers with both ipad2 and ipad3 are making dubious claims IMO.
3rd update- humble pie time (sort of)... This may help some other people out there too... The sleep / wake function does work with an ipad3 - but it has to be enabled in the settings of the iPad first under the 'general' button and sliding 'iPad cover lock' to "on"
Should've spotted that..d'oh!,
