Excellent biography of a forgotten Royal
on 18 December 2012
This is a great biography - it hit all the marks. Well-researched, informative; sympathetic yet always professional, it lets you know Louise's character; the challenging marriage to the Marquis of Lorne (later the 9th Duke of Argyll) and her relationships with her extended family. It reads so well, I wish I could I find more books by this author. It might just be my favorite biography of any of Queen Victoria's children (although Charlotte Zeepvat's biography of Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany, is a very close second).
