Gary gives a wonderful insight into what it takes to be an all-time great amateur golfer plus an interesting look into the workings of the amateur game at the highest level.

I really enjoyed it and found it inspiring

Very interesting read.
Very opinionated, but not in an egotistical way.
Refreshing to read about a golfer who to all intents and purposes is a career amateur.
Gary understands what golf is really all about.

This is a well written book rightly chronicling the (mainly) ups and (very occasional) downs of Gary's career and life to date. I thoroughly enjoyed reading of his exploits on trips with the various teams he has represented. My only quibbles for this entertaining book is that he does come over as somewhat egotistical - although perhaps you have to have this quality to succeed in a highly competitive sport - and the fact that teams that he felt he should have been on lost most likely because of his omission. A little humility would have rendered this a much better book. Take a leaf from Arnie please Gary.

Quality reading from an unsung British sporting hero. Amazing to see what he's done and achieved without fuss. Even better since going to press he's now 3 rd on the seniors money list! Inspirational.

If you have a real fascination with golf then this book gives a great insight into a man that has defended the honour of the amateur golfer with great dignity and success.

A great read, very honest and forthright ! A pity the amateur golf unions didn't listen to Gary's advice. His achievement's are second to none.

Having played golf with Gary Wolstenholme I was keen to read about his background. This is a "warts and all" but with very few warts although his early years were not without some emotional hardship. Wolstenholme is the most decorated English amateur golfer and a true gentleman of the sport and I highly recommend this book.
