The 'Klarfit FIT-DS1C50 Curl Bar Barbell and Weights Set' is a 120cm long barbell that is used in conjunction with the included weights for bench pressing and other such upper-body exercises.

The hefty chrome barbell arrives in two halves which require screwing together (both the small hardened-steel screws and the required Allen Key come included). Once the bar has been assembled (a 20 second job), the weights can be slotted on to either side and then securely fastened in place using the two included star locks.

The barbell has a curled bar design, with angled grips which resemble a flattened 'W'. This type of design makes the barbell easier to manoeuvre, whilst the angled grips help to reduce the tension on your wrists and elbows (basically the curve puts your forearms in a more natural position).

Also included in the set are 2x 0.5kg. 2x 1.25kg, 2x 2.5kg and 2x 5kg weights. If you were to put all eight weight disks on the barbell at once (which itself weighs a reasonably hefty 7kg), the total weight would be 25.5kg - quite a substantial weight for any home gym.

The weights are constructed from the usual hard-plastic casing with what I presume is some sort of sand filling the inside. I've accidentally dropped a couple of the different weights onto a section of concrete flooring outside whilst moving them out to our garage, and other than a few scratches where the plastic hit the hard floor, both weights remained undamaged.

The star locks (which keep the weights firmly in place on either end of the barbell) are incredibly easy to screw and unscrew - making it a simple 30 second job to change the weights. Furthermore, when screwed on firmly, there's absolutely no chance of the weights coming loose of wobbling on the barbells length.

All in all I've been incredibly happy with the barbell and weights set. The construction is strong and sturdy and clearly designed to last. A highly recommended weights set for general home gym use.
