WARNING: You may receive a fake
23 June 2014
I am not suggesting everyone has been sold a fake, but the one I just received most certainly is. Yes, the packaging all looks genuine enough (doesn't it always), but the writing on the battery is not the same the OEM battery.
First, the font is wrong. It's close, but not quite the same. Then there's the text itself on the battery: "May explose or release toxic materials" (not "explode"). And Made in japan (lower case J).
But if that is not enough, the real giveaway is the weight. The genuine battery weighs 50g. This one weighs 38g.
I am reporting it to Amazon, but in the meantime, you have been warned!
