The Atlantans live far below the Antarctic ice and think like humans, they are the only people who live on this planet. There is however a childrens tale of giants who live beyond the ice which they call the outside. They live in large familys with the same surname and each family has an elected father or mother. The Atlantans have to take a test to prove they are adults like mining or being part of a team on a boat. Mungith of Point house decides to take his test in the mines and when hes working a creature appears. Could it be a giant? I really like this book and will start with my only point of criticism, the book gets better as your read on but has a very sudden ending I think it could have been a bit longer with a finish to suit the rest of the book. I think that the way the book hs different groups who are expected to do different things is brilliant theres the wilders, the hunters and then the main famiy with smaller familys surronding them. The characters have names that change as they get older which sounds fun but can get confusing when Mungith becomes Mungithak. This book is for children in the 10-13 age group and is just as good as any other book around at the moment but will not be read as much because it has not had the publicity other books have had.
