This is very good. Not "The Bridge" brilliant, and not quite "The Killing" good, but around "Trapped" level and well worth buying if you like this genre of series. Unlike the other three, this series deals with individual stories with no link other than some mild character development.
The heroine is a tough, very easy on the eye, Danish lady cop with relationship issues. She reminded us of tomboy Laure from the French series "Spiral" but with looks, style and class. Instantly recognisable Lars Mikkelson (from every Danish series going) plays her tough but fair boss and she has an irritatingly brilliant young psychiatrist helping her out. It has a kind of CSI/Castle vibe, but is still refreshingly Scandi and all the better for that.
There's only 5 double length episodes, with a similar length wrap-up episode made after the idea of a second series was dropped. That was a real shame, as this was a very watchable programme. It's pretty gory, although not as stomach-churning as "Spiral", and the production and all-round quality are top-notch. It's definitely a series I'd have bought more of, so I can't understand why it was dropped so soon.
This is well worth watching and worth every penny of the low price. (And I had no problems with subtitles)
