Perfect Christmas entertainment - all year round
on 8 January 2012
I was looking for a few films to watch over the Christmas holidays and came across this at a well known supermarket. It looked like a feel good gentle story perfect for the holidays and we were not disappointed. I watched it together with my two children aged 6 and 8 and it was just perfect for them. It is the story of a single mum left with a stepchild and two of her own after the man of the house does a runner with another woman. The mum ups and leaves the family home with all the children and lands up in a small town where she tries to make a go of things. With little money and little opportunity to earn money she manages to scrap by. But circumstances conspire against her and things come to a head and it is then that the true message of the film shines through.
Good solid performances all round. A lump in the throat at the end and snow, what more could you want.
