fitting was easy, did it myself although in my case had to take some of the dash off to do it this was a quirk of the vehicle. Once you turn it on it goes into a demo mode and this drove me mad for about an hour trying to work out how to turn it off, the instructions were far from clear as to how to do this. Looked on YOUTUBE and even this didnt seem to work initially. Once demo mode is off and you have set the colours (there is a whole range of colours for the display and buttons)and set some presets this is quite an easy unit to use and has improved on the sound from the previous radio that was fitted. The connection to the ipod is easy and there is some control of the ipod once on the move. All in all a good purchase even if the initial set up was a pain for a time.
I replaced my old Blaupunkt unit with the Pioneer DEH-3400UB and at first, not going to lie, wanted to change it right back. It was quite intimidating with all the features it has and how to get to what and bla bla bla.
But, I have now been playing around with it for a couple of days hours and hours and am now starting to really get attached to it. The sound quality, if you have a half decent set of speakers, is excellent, at the moment, I am only running a pair of Pioneer 2 way 200w (30w input) speakers in the dash in my campervan but soon will connect some 6x9's in the back. You have all the regular adjustments, Bass, Treble, Mids, Preset Equalizers, Custom Set Up, USB and Aux connection which all work absolutely fine with my iPhone with the standard white iPhone lead, it charges your iphone as well. When it is playing from your iPhone, it will display the song/album details on the interface. You can preset I think 22 radio stations. The bonus feature is the Colour change, it allows you to change the Buttons colour and the Display colour, There were so many colours I couldn't choose so selected it to "scan" all through all the colours.
As I mentioned before, it does take time knowing and learning how to adjust your stereo to your personal preference, but once you get the hang of it, you won't turn back. It is compatible with an additional steering wheel control remote also
Now, here's the IMPORTANT part: ***** When installing it into your car/van, check the back wires, you wil have all the usual colours, try it set up as the instructions tell you, then when you turn it on, do some adjustments and save them. You may find when you return to the car and turn the ignition on again, all the settings have reset themselves back to factory settings, if this happens, DO NOT panic, I believe it is a factory fault, you need to pull out the stereo and swap over the RED & YELLOW wires, they will be connected with bullet connectors, uplug these 2 ONLY and plug the RED into the YELLOW and vice versa, THIS WILL NOT BLOW THE STEREO, because I tried it and all my settings have now been saved!
Good luck and hope you get the best out of your new stereo when you purchase it :)
Excellent product, quick delivery, easy to set up including sub set up, great sound and great value. Using mainly USB function with a 16gb usb on shuffle on a day to day basis but cd, aux and tuner all work perfectly.
Bought this to replace my old Sony unit. Good stereo with multiple options for equaliser and dual colour options. Have been using it daily for radio and music playback through usb and cannot fault it. Like the feature which enables you to search through the attached usb device for the album or song that you would like to be played. and the option to put the whole usb in shuffle mode to cycle through all of my songs. Highly recommend this product.
bought this to replace the sony one that replaced the original rangerover one. the sony one had electric blue lighting that blinded you at night and you could'nt turn it down so it went in the nearest bin and the original rangerover one went back in. until i found the pioneer one where you can set the original colour for display and control backlighting that you can drive at night. i think sony was aiming at boy racers and forgot about night light polution where you can see the radio and nothing else. youtube have a video of how to dim the sony blinding light which involves stripping down the control panel and colouring the leds with fibre pens PATHETIC! the pioneer one has good sound and night driving capability
I'm sorry that I gave negative feedback, was just really gutted that something I waited for wasn't functioning properly however with the help of the seller, CarAudioCentre, I was able to get it working perfectly in two minutes.
O my good - its is the best product, this tuner do ewerything you wont - EWRYTHING.. The qualty like always is avesome. Every thing works perfect. Wery recomended for all. Easy to replace and connect - 1 minute and its OK. Instruction you can get on YOUTBE - its easyest for begginers.
This is a good stereo, i found it pretty easy to get to grips with. The memory stick functionality is top notch loads quickly, and remembers what track you last listened to It has loads of colours to choose from and all in all top product
