This album deserves to be heard by everybody. It is possibly one of the best pieces of music ever recorded - a truly modern classic. The music completely draws you in and there is little else you can do whilst it is playing - it is utterly spellbinding. The finely crafted pieces are evocative, inspirational and subtlely charged with emotional intensity. This music is accessible to listeners with all sorts of tastes - personally, I am a fan of people like U2, Radiohead, Coldplay and Moby. Anybody who enjoys music which is passionate, majestic, elegant and spiritual will be immediately enchanted by this album. Imagine Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata crossed with Watermark by Enya and you'll have some idea of what to expect - piano playing that paints a beautiful picture. However, words alone cannot describe what a magical and graceful album this truly is. Buy it, put it on the CD player, close your eyes and discover perfection.

Imagine, if you will, the following scene: It is raining; you are soaked to the skin, and, after a hard day at work, rather stressed too. All you want to do is kick something. You need something to calm you down, to bring you back to normality.
This is it.
'Le Onde' consists of the most amazingly beautiful solo piano music you are ever likely to hear. Really. Buy it now.

I heard the title piece 'Le Onde' on Classic FM one day. It was an utterly beautiful piece of music, and I had to buy the album. It did not disappoint! Einaudi's work 'Le Onde' details a walk along the beach and each piece is hauntingly beautiful. It is a marvellously relaxing album- no matter how stressful your day, you can come home to this and leave it all behind. Einaudi's pure piano pieces are by far the most successful, and I feel this album to be his loveliest work thus far.

Every now and then an album comes along that changes they way you think about music. This is one of those albums. The only word that springs to mind is perfection. From the first scintillating key to the last - it's everything a contemporary classical work should be: elevated, yet with no hint of pretension. Elegant but accessible. Rich and melodious. Think Nyman's The Piano. Haunting - think American Beauty or Six feet Under and you'll get the picture - at least part of it. You'll just have to get the disc to savour the whole of Einaudi's perfect vista. Oh, there's that word again!

Absolutely stunning. Ludovico Einaudi will touch your heart, soul and spirit with this seminal album of piano music that must be listened to and not just heard. The depth of feeling and emotion that flows through the themes is tangible and honest. Sheer pleasure.

What Einaudi has accomplished in this mesmerising album is beyond words. The pieces he has composed are so brilliant and so well constructed that they have the power to send you to sleep. Le Onde, the main feature of this album is so beautiful and so haunting that it will naturally take you back to a beach you favour most, bringing back all those unforgettable memories. The entire album is able to lift a person up, sending them into a world of beauty and memory. Einaudi never fails in any one of his pieces and i recommend it strongly to any person who finds piano music relaxing and chilling.

Ludivico einaudi is a brilliant composer and pianist, with his own unique style of minimilism which works to great effect in this amazing album. The album consists of very simple compositions but in some way sound as rich as other more complicated works by other composers. le ondi is a timeless classic, probably his best melody ever, questa notte again is amazing with its change of mood halfway through, and the piece sounds similar to scarborough fair. very simple but very, very effective. Most of the tracks are great to listen to, however a couple are harder to get on with and could pass as background music more. A must buy simply because of the majority of the album is an amazing experience to listen to.

Is it classical? New age? 'Musical poetry' is the best description I can find for it. Whichever way this music is categorised doesn't really matter, as it is as beautiful and captivating as it is different.

What can I say, perfection. Instantly calming, beautiful, evocative, heart-wrenching,lyrical perfection. You will NEVER tire from this man's music. If you've got a irritable baby, play him this, it will work every time. Believe me, I know!
Mr Einaudi is a master and should be MUCH more well known than he is.

I purchased this having heard the Harp section on Classic FM and having read previous reviews. I found this music relaxing, thought provoking and uplifting if not a little bland in places. It is certainly worth purchasing and helps to restore the mind after a demanding day at work. Good to listen to whilst in the bath with candles and a glass of wine.
