Picked this book on a whim and the price Got to say that it was a great decision Great fight scenes and story building up to be a classic Would recommend this to any fantasy fan Definitely worth it's 5 stars
This book reads very much like a D&D adventure. You start with one character and gradually build up a team with various classes/species/attributes. This doesn't make it a bad book but it does mean that nothing comes across as startlingly original. In general this story is very black and white. The good guys are pretty much noble and the bad guys have no redeeming features. Also the characterisation and conversational interplay is quite basic and more often used as a data dump than anything else. Still the story line moves pretty fast and as you would expect the good guys take it to the bad guys. There is death, destruction and whilst there isn't a dragon in this story it can only be a matter of time.
