This 4 CD Box Set contains 8 of the finest albums by one of the masters of jazz piano - Bud Powell.. Considering the age of this wonderful jazz music, record label REAL GONE have done a fine job with the remastering of these now copyright free albums, and it’s great to hear them in decent quality sound at such a low price.
Less great is the lack of care Real Gone has taken in getting the track and album names right and in the original track order. In many cases track titles do not match the music heard. If you wish to rip this music to your PC, Tablet or iPhone you’ll find that many tracks have errors with completely mismatched or meaningless titles. (TIP - matching the approx. track playing times shown on the box with those of the actual track, may get you the right track names!!!)
I do recommend this box set for the music content , sound quality and amazing value for money. As for the accuracy of track/ album information ,this is truely terrible. I give this 3 stars overall

What can I say? If you like Bud Powell, you'll like this a lot - great music, fantastic value. If you've never heard Bud Powell, this might be the introduction for you, without risking too much cash.

Great for the asking price...jazz piano(modern jazz piano, anyway)begins with Bud,the Charlie Parker of the piano.:Here are some of his greatest recordings for pocket money prices.Anyone who is a jazz fan should own these, and if you arent, whats wrong with you? This music will last forever, most modern popular music will be forgotten by Christmas.
