If we ignore the fact that the whole set up with the kidnapping of April and Dianna rock climbing and kayaking down a river the day after she's been in a car crash is completely implausible, I liked the book mainly because I liked the interaction between Sam and Dianna.

My summary of the book - After 10 years apart Sam still rushes to Dianna's side after hearing she was in a car accident and soon ends up helping her look for her sister. Soon the past catches up with them and they have to sort out the past to be able to sort out the present and future. The passion still sizzles between the pair and they can't forgot the love they had for each other those 10 years before.

Thoughts on the characters - Dianna seems like she has control of her life but when seeing Sam again she realises she never got over him and all the feelings come back to her in a rush which confuses her. When he says that he will help her find her sister she starts to realise what a true man he is and how he looks after her without insulting her own self. She realises that he is still the man for her and would do anything to keep him in her life.
Sam is a strong caring man who would do anything for the ones he loves and all he wants to do is to make sure they are fine so when Dianna needs his help he can't walk away. He manages to help trek through the mountains to find her sister and has amazing patience when trying to talk Dianna into riding rough rivers and climbing cliffs. He has never stopped loving Dianna and would love for her to be back in his life and they have the life they should have had.

Thoughts on the writing style - Very easy and engaging so not difficult to read and you can keep up with what is going on in the story.

Overall thoughts - Good book with passion, love and a bit of mystery and danger. Can't wait to read the other book in the series.

I loved the rekindled romance of this story, the fact that Sam and Dianna found each other again after ten years hit the mark on the `melt-your-heart meter'.... But... I didn't like the fact that April was kidnapped and just a day or so after a major car accident Sam was irresponsible enough to take Dianna on a cross country trek, with white water rafting and mountain climbing thrown in. She clearly didn't partake in such adventures normally, so to do something so physically demanding when injured was not really what I would expect from sensible adults, particularly a hot shot!

The touching scenes between the pair were very well written and the emotion jumped off the page, unfortunately the suspense side of the plot let the book down because it lacked in depth and believability.

Absolutely fabulous. I will certainly have more respect to what firefighters put themselves through on our behalf.
