If you are looking for helpful, insightful and easy to follow cliff notes on any great literary work, look no further than 'CliffsNotes'. They provide the background to the author and to the play. They explain the themes and the characters extremely well, so well in fact that you may feel that you don't need to read the actual play!

Wordsworth Classics do not try to be anything they are not, a feature I have liked about them for years. They contain the text in a basic paperback format and are produced at a very cheap price. For students at Key Stage Three or GCSE, these are excellent texts, allowing them to annotate, underline and highlight in the knowledge that "they are expendable". For play production, they are ideal. Concentrating students on the text is an excellent idea which forces them to think and consider the language and that is the Shakespeare.

There is an edition of this accompanied by a CD and it is the best reasonably-priced study CD I have encountered and much better than many higher priced competitors; not only is the content excellent but the software and programming is solid too, an essential feature of any study CD.

I'm sure Hamlet would have enjoyed perusing As You Like It, a play set substantially in the forest and not a mother in sight. What you can expect are witty young misses and thoughtful clowns, lovestruck young heroes and unpatronised rustics, in a story full of sinister plots undone and romantic mis-takings, cross-dressing and arborial graffiti.

Anywa, it's charming and the comedy is not strained. A pleasure to read, especially in such a helpful edition.

This is an excellent book for those studying Macbeth for G.C.S.E or as a school project for English Language / Literature Studies. with a no nonsense guide to help students understand the text contained, One side has Shakespearian Language and the opposite page gives explanation of that text... simply Brilliant. 10 / 10

I bought this as I was taking part in an amatuer dramatics production of the play. Having never studied Shakespeare I was impressed with this version which contained extra notes and info explaining the language. For the first time I understood it!
Shakespeare wrote his plays for performance I am told and having taken part in a performance I can testify to this, the words come alive in performance.
This is an excellent version of the play.

The story was great ! How can you be wrong with a classic from Shakespeare ?
And this... have been the first book I have been reading in English (after 4 years in the UK) So don't say you can't read classic books !!
BUT this kindle version really need to be improved for Android. Sorry for the stars.

This book includes the story of Macbeth and on the bottom of each page is translated into modern language which has helped me understand the play a hell of a lot more than I would've. It's great for anyone studying the play at University!

Not as described by other reviewers. It was stated that this book had the Shakespeare text on one side with a plain English explanation on the other. This is just purely the Shakespeare original. Whether earlier publications did demystify the text I can't say. But this was a waste of money when the pure text is available for free on the internet. It will probably cost more to return than keep. Very disappointed

This edition is perfect, exactly what I was looking for as a foreign student. You have explanations on the left of the text throughout the play, so you can actually read it and understand it the first time... What's more it is really complete and have so many explanations of the text, the context... I recommend it to everyone!
