Thank the mathmos; finally, a Barbarella OST, containing the full title song, and not the edited track that has appeared on vinyl and cd so many times before. This is an excellent soundtrack, with the added bonus of an alternative theme for Barbarella, which, in my humble opinion, appears to have been slightly influenced by the original, unused composer for the film, Michel Magne. I remember taking a friend to see the film at a late night showing in East Finchley, London, and she commented at the time that she had never seen a film where the music complimented the film so much - an eclectic mish-mash of styles which individually suited their scenes - a psychedelic trip, which is very much of its time, but has also stood the test of time and sounds relevant today.
If I have one little gripe, it is that the accompanying booklet with the cd states that there are two alternate versions of the main themes on the cd, but there is only one.
Even if you have purchased a previous soundtrack to Barbarella, I would highly recommend this version for the full length theme and alternate version alone.

Very old favourite of mine from years ago . I Just thought It would be nice to add it to my collection for the memories from my past youth..
And that some albums are getting hard to find these days... So many thanks to Amazon for bringing out the old favourites...
Hope you like the tunes / songs as much as I do

A brilliant soundtrack, evoking the fun and sauciness of the movie.
Perfect lounge music or just to chill in the car with.

Just about the best fantasy sci-fi ever. Brilliant soundtrack a real retro feel to the music and as good today as it was when first released. Memorable soundtrack to my teens!

Abysmal product; Abysmal sound quality; Oversized disc; Pure unadulterated rubbish from Varese Sarabande

Apart from the stunning picture of Jane Fonda, there is nothing about this shoddy item which could make it worth spending your hard earned money on. As to the claims of this being sourced from the original master tapes, I can only assume they found them in an old damp shed - then threw sand on them to dry them out!

This item ruins a stunning soundtrack. Varese Sarabande should be ashamed of this hideous product.

In all honesty I have never been more disappointed; I wrote to Varese Sarabande highlighting the severe lack of quality with their product and they could not care less. The quality (or lack thereof) of this pressing is indicative of Varese Sarabande's attitude to customer care.

As already stated BUYER BEWARE!

must say having seen the film a few times in the past i finely started to pay attention to the music (and not miss fonda), i thought some of it was good, particularly the more trippy scenes. However on getting the soundtrack there was nothing i remembered from the film which i thought stood out being on it, mostly very average and quite disappointing as it didn't appear representative of the film. so would advise anyone interested to listen to a sample of the tracks first if you can,and judge for yourself.
