great concert, shame about the voice
on 8 March 2012
i got this blu ray for Xmas and was looking forward to a few beers and some good ole sleazy rock n roll. and 80% of this blu ray is fantastic, great tunes, musicianship and sleaze. Ok so what about the 20%? Well, its Myles Kennedy, after 5 or 6 songs his monotone nasally voice was really starting to grate, im sorry but I feel this guy has no balls to his voice at all. Even my wife, who is a big G'n'R fan was like, who's this guy? His voice is just too polished and X Factor for this sort of band. Dont get me wrong, im not a pro axlite, i just think that this sort of music needs a vocalist who can do it justice.... and just as i was about to lose all hope, Todd Kerns steps up the mic for Dr Alibi, suddenly I am transported back to the 80's.... Faster Pussycat, LA Guns, Motley Crue, in one song he brings some charisma, sex and eyeliner to the proceedings! Apart from the obvious, this concert is still great, the Blu ray has great production, crisp visuals and a fantastic setlist, its just a shame about the bland vocals.
