I downloaded the first novella in the series 'The Demons Bargain' and loved it so much that I downloaded the next two in the series. To Summon a Demon is book 2.
The world that Lisa Adler has created gets the reader thinking. What would happen if there was an earthquake and it realeased loads of Demons into a modern world where the energy they posess is so strong that it desimates all the worlds electrical systems and the world is plunged into a medieval world where there are no mobiles, no internet, and no modern comforts. Then you bring the Fae into the mix, who had banished the Demons underground many centuries before.
In this book the battle between the Demons and Fae is still raging and humans are just in the way or tools to be used.
The two main characters are a human woman called Lili and the Demon Prince Gaap. Lili was attacked by some Fae and she wants vengeance. So she performs a ceremony to summon a demon & Gaap arrives. He thinks that it is a Fae trap but cant ignore his attraction to her.
The story has just the right amount of adventure and hot steamy scenes. Lili is a wonderful character. A woman trying to survive on her own in a very frightening world. She has courage and her only skill of sewing to earn a crust. Prince Gaap has his own nightmares to deal with. Thousand of years being trapped underground has affected all the demons and Gaap is no exception.
I wont tell you all the story as it will spoil it but all I can say about these demons is that they have amazing and very talented tongues. I want one!!!

This was a short erotic read. I have previously read 'the Demon's Bargain' which in my opinion was a much better, hotter read because you felt the hot demon had that little bit of the devil in him - I didn't get that with this one.

I think this is prior to the Demon's Bargain which would explain my thoughts as the first book in a 'world building' set up are often used as the building blocks to the following tales.

Lily summons a demon to help her exact revenge on the fae who brutally attacked her and had previously killed her husband. She summons Prince Gaap who is on high alert for attacks from the fae and is mistrustful of her summons. H

Lily and Gaap begin (immediately), a very sexual and public relationship although there is strong mis-trust. Is Lily being honest?

Hot, sexy scenes, another Demon 'well hung' tongue, slight mild bondage.

For the price 77p, it's a little sensual scorcher.

Very well written. This work is surprising free of cliches, and has some refreshingly original descriptions and similes. I didn't feel that I'd read parts of the story a hundred times in a hundred other books. For me that made it more engaging. The romance/ sex is sensuously portrayed and panty wetting hot. It is a short story but still manages to have a little twist and end satisfactorily (it doesn't leave you hanging or the relationship unfinished). Well done Ms Alder.

A great storyline, with some fun twists, but the overriding theme is a great hero and a heroin who although confused at first, comes good in the end.

I've given this 4 stars reluctantly cos there seemed to be something missing. Not really an in depth story and I think there could have been so much more.
After a massive earthquake life on earth as gone back to the dark ages with the added bonus of demons and fae walking the earth.
Lili is just a simple human struggling on her own after losing her loved ones year's ago. She's been abused by the fae and wants revenge. She wants payback and to do this she needs the help of a demon. She must perform a ritual by offering her body to summon a sex demon. After doing this a demon appears. Gaap is his name. Lili thinks he's a sex demon and he's willing to play along with that cos all demons like sex (and it turns out there is plenty of sex to be had in this book).
Gaap's comrades think it's a trap but he's willing to follow his head on this and see where it leads him (and yes it leads to sex,sex and more sex).
A traps been set by the fae and Lili is in the middle of it. A fight ensues (that's after sex or is it before?) Gaap must fight for his life and Lili helps him out.
He's fallen for her and the need to protect her takes over. Lili likes the idea and they seal the deal with sex.
It would have been nice for more background info on the characters. Can't say I felt any true emotion between them.

A good follow on to the first book. Easy reading and escapism at the end of a busy day. Good to loose yourself in the story
