did not feel secure
on 6 February 2013
This is a Kindle Fire cover and stand and does not fit any of the other available Kindles.
The Kindle Fire does NOT clip into the stand but rather sits snuggly in the stand - this is both a good and a bad thing. It allows full access to the screen, but it does give the impression that if you aren't careful the Kindle may call out.
Ok, so I'm a nervous ninny with expensive things like my Kindle, my DS, my camera, etc, as I value my possessions and don't want to have to replace them, especially the expensive items.
There is a problem with the case: it covered the back entirely and has no spaces for ventilation. I have noticed that the Kindle starts to feel hot to the touch after a short time of use, something which doesn't happen when it is out of the case.
The case if made of a material which has a limited amount of give to it and it is fairly light on its own, but whether it would give any protection should the Kindle slip and drop ... well, I have my doubts, even if it was just a short distance such as from hand to table top.
Half of the cover frontage becomes the leg of the stand which is to slot into a lip on the reverse of the solid section of the case. This does not appear to be a secure fit and it has slipped out of the groove several times mean that the Kindle suddenly thumps down onto the table. Whether this would improve with time and usage is doubtful.
Overall, this should have been a great addition to the Kindle Fire but the problems mean it is a disappointment.
