I am trying to once and for all get up to date with Linux and so far ( this is a BIG one !) this book has been very rewarding and a good refresher on what I already know.
There is plenty of content and it's presented clearly and accurately. The author goes into more detail where necessary and points out common misconceptions.
The chapter on the bash shell could be a book in itself, it's useful if you use Mac OSX as well or have used older shells and never taken the time to learn about bash
If you are going to take the time to read a big Linux book, you may as well read something decent like this, which does not skimp on detail , is not full of typos. and is clearly written by someone who knows the subject well ! I guess this book has been progressively refined over the previous editions, it clearly shows.
You do get the sense that time reading this is time well spent and that it has been put together with a lot of care and attention to detail.
I will have to update my review in the future.
