The two stories in this collection both have the same pluses and minuses.
Both of them are very well written with some excellent descriptive imagery and a very unique take on angels. The description of the archangel Gabriel is particularly good, making it very easy to picture the character in your mind. Likewise for the clubs the stories are set in.
There are some very nice comedic moments to offset the somewhat darker tone which appears in places (the groupie angels hanging around Michael for example)
The main minus point, for me anyway, is the lack of dialogue. This means that the stories are a little too 'telling' in places where it might have been more 'showing' and would have given a bit more depth to the characters. I, for one, would have liked to have heard what Gabriel had to say at times!
So overall the stories are pretty good. Possibly not to everyone's taste (what is?) but worth a look anyway.
