My name is Barton, Dick Barton
on 19 January 2004
Before the coming of the upstart 007, in the miserable times after WW2,there was a special agent to defend Britain against wicked and evil enemies. Be it escaped Nazis planning germ warfare, bald Commies seizing the new death-ray weapon or corrupted noblemen and musical gypsies that kill whole villages with ultrasonic sound emitters: Dick Barton is going to stop them.
Dick Barton was Hammers first real hit and (like Quatermass) adapted from a sucessful BBC series. It is an old debate wether Ian Flemings renowned character James Bond was inspired by this.
The print quality is (especially in dark scenes) not optimal and in the third part the soundtrack seems to be damaged in some places but that was to be expected and should not annoy anyone.
This may be trash but it's quite entertaining and I don't regret to have bought it.
