Even if it isn't the greatest ever, it must be close to being the most complete melodic rock album ever and one of the greatest ever released. Featuring a brillant vocal performance from Terry Brock, the album has ten very tight beautifully crafted tracks. Even though all these numbers are identifable as being products of the eighties (the album was first released in 1986) they contain the best of that decade, lush keyboards, driving rythmn and massive hooks, not to mention those epic harmonies and choruses. Although they never re-caputured the heights that this album scales, it remains an outstanding legacy and contribution to the sphere of AOR. Enjoy.

As far as I am concerned if you like melodic hard rock you need to buy this album. It's utterly brilliant. If on the front of the cover of the record it said Journey,Foreigner , Boston, or a multitude of American classic AOR/ Melodic rock bands this album would and should have sold millions of copies it's that good. I still play it on a regular basis and to this day it baffles the hell out of me why this record didn't sell by the truck load and make the band huge stars it really is that good.

This is probably the finest AOR album ever recorded and easily one of the best rock albums I've ever heard. Strangeways are very unfortunate to have missed out on success and glory after creating such a masterpiece, a bad record deal and possibly the fact they weren't actually from america (British AOR was never really taken seriously at the time) may be to blame. Every song on this is brilliant, well crafted and a classic. Journey eat your heart out.

This band are a recent discovery for me thanks to Amazon (though I bought it on Ebay!) It seems it's not that easy to get hold of which is a tragedy as this album is a real masterpiece. It goes without saying if you like AOR, soft rock, driving music you will love this album. Very similar to Journey and that's no bad thing. Why this band weren't huge is a real mystery.

Bought this album in the 80's on vinyl after hearing one track on compilation ep . What can I say , this album is incredible ! I've now got the cd and still love it . Four of my favourite songs of all time are on it , need i say more say More ! Terry Brock is a great vocalist and the guitar playing from Ian
Stewart is so melodic and emotive . If your a melodic rock fan you need this cd in your collection . A must buy !
