10 discs! That's a lot of DM.

The stories are still excellent, the voices classic and the characters as good as they always have been. For someone approaching their forties that used to love dangermouse this is a great box-set that's sure to have their favourite episode and loads of others that they might not even remember.

These are the original TV series. If your memory is like mine, then nostalgia will paint the images in crisp, sharp colours with crystal clear sound. In reality, they were hand-drawn and often stylised water-clour backgrounds over which the animation happened and the sounds can be a hit hissy on a modern AV setup. So be warned, nostalgia is great until it becomes more than memory...

But really, what's not to like. There's DM, Colonel K, Penfold, Baron Greenback, Nero and Stiletto plus the endless assortment of minor villains and bit-parts. It's just like being back in the 1980s. For 10 whole discs!

Still working my way through this. But loving pretty much every minute of it. I used to watch this series as a kid, and loved it then. Seeing it all these years later, I'm pleasantly surprised to find that I still thoroughly enjoy it.

I think there are several reasons adults as well as kids can enjoy this series - besides the hit of nostalgia for folk like me, revisiting childhood pleasures - amongst which are:

- the surrealist, slapstick or nonsense aspects, which affect both storyline and animation style.
- the humour - often self-consciously corny, but frequently very funny nonetheless.
- the voice talent/characters: David Jason is ace as DM, and Terry Scott is perfect as Penfold.

Cosgrove Hall seemed to care about two things that really drew/draw me in to their creations: wild imagination, and characters you care about. (Their Wind In The Willows is beautiful!)

Even though characters like Danger Mouse, Penfold, Colonel K, Baron Greenback and Stiletto might appear to be wafer thin, you quickly grow to love them.

Being able to buy all these cartoons in one set is fab. And I'm so pleased that they connect with both the older man and what remains of the child inside.

VINE VOICEon 11 December 2014
In a flat in a pillar box somewhere in Mayfair, lives a white mouse with an eyepatch who is the world's greatest secret agent and his cowardly incompetent assistant Penfold who is a hamster. They get their orders from their confused spluttering boss Colonel K what he is exactly I'm not sure possibly a walrus, and every episode they fight the forces of evil waiting to take over the world usually it's evil toad Baron Silas Greenback with his pet caterpillar Nero and henchman Stilletto an Italian stereotype crow though other villains do appear. It's as barking mad as it sounds, spoofing classic British spy films brilliantly voiced by David Jason as Dangermouse and Terry Scott as Penfold who seems to be scared of everything and is every bit as good as you remember watching as a kid. Sheer inspired lunacy with the characters seemingly aware that they are in a tv show and can hear the narrator though it can feel a bit samey and predictable after a while. One of the best cartoon series ever made.

Just as good as when I watched it as a child. Simply brilliant! If you remember this show, penfold is the best sidekick ever...

the case came cracked and broken. one of the episodes has a ruined picture and is not in sink. also, on series 5, a lot of the episodes are quiet or are very misty and look like the were made in the 50s/60s. I do like this dvd and i think i spent my money wisely but i wish the episode would work properly as it is one of my favourites.

My grandaughter was soooo pleased with this present, it was her "bestest" gift and keeps her amused when the weather is bad. Such good value.
