I read the first book in this series and followed on with this one. I really enjoyed it and look forward to part three which I have downloaded. I used the words "thoughtful read" as the title, as both the first two books describe in detail what women's lives were like in the late 1800 hundreds, without servants. As well as enjoying the story you find yourself being thankful for modern medicine and work tools. Especial running hot and cold water.
The book is well written and keeps you wanting to come back and see "what happens next" It takes it time to unfold, and to really get the best out of it, you need to be a reader, who likes to savour detail. This book is not slow, there is always something happening, and Shayne Parkinson, makes you "see" the people involved. Different from my usual reads, but I have enjoyed it.
