Before you press the buy button, ask yourself if you really need this. Basic DVD playback software is often included with new computers so does buying this with its enhanced features justify the extra cost?
You get to enjoy "standard" playback of DVD (and upscales them), Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray discs. It covers practically every format and supports BD-Live features, as does any Blu-ray player. It can even show 2D movies in 3D through its Truetheatre feature, which I personally don't like.
The interface is clean and user-friendly. It's integrated into the Windows task bar for quick control access, and you can use your iPhone as a remote. It'll also allow you to view videos and pictures from social media sites like Flickr and YouTube. (This works fine, but you're computer already lets you do this). There's an abundance of other features, like frame-capture and remixing scenes, but this is too much for what I need. If you're a budding director, it may be of use to you, though.
So, if you want to simply play your discs.. don't bother. But, if you're a complete film nerd/buff, love playing around with your movies, and use your computer as your entertainment hub, then this is for you.
