Obviously it would have been great not to receive a faulty product
on 5 April 2017
This arrived today. Installed the batter into the keyboard and plugged it in. However the red power light kept blinking and it seemed not power was getting to the keyboard. Looked at the box to see what red blinking meant. The box says that there was a device failure.
I was going to return the product but decided to just go ahead and try and fix it.
I opened up the battery casing, removed two generic blue coloured batteries and replace them with some aaa eneloops. Put the case back on and plugged the keyboard back in. Voilà, the keyboard powered on and charges perfectly. Also the power in the keyboard is reported as 100%. I see some reviews saying their batteries are only reporting 80% when fully charged.
Obviously it would have been great not to receive a faulty product. But now I have switched the batteries I have a device that works great, and I know down the road I can swap out the eneloops for a new set. However that shouldn't be for a while yet, as the eneloops are supposed to be good for 2000 cycles, which is a lot more than the 500 cycles the standard batteries have. I also like the eneloops as they don't self discharge as much, so I won't need to charge them as often anyway.
