I can't believe how well this works. For years, every time I have opened the conservatory door a horde of flies has buzzed around indoors, driving me mad. But now, the door remains open all day and nary a fly to be seen. They're outside and hugely frustrated. I'm inside and enormously smug! Took a little adjustment to make it fit a non-standard door but only time-consuming rather than in any way difficult. If flies are a problem for you, this could be the answer.
I have had so many of the plastic fly screens, that don't even last a summer. I thought I would try this aluminium chain screen. I know it is expensive, but the quality is 100%. It took about 10 minutes to fix the bracket above the door, and then I just lifted the chain onto the bracket and lo and behold a perfect fly screen. The flies DO stay out and it looks great. When the day is done I just lift it off and put it back into the very strong zipper bag. Extremely excellent quality and worth every penny because it will last a lifetime. Very pleased - thank you
Live on farm in rural Ireland and flies drive me nuts! Have dogs, cats, pot bellied pig who love in the house - and they also drive me nuts barking, oinking, n meowing to come in, and out... needed something robust enough to handle big dogs (also my piggy has grabbed a chain a few times and had a tug) but also that my cat n timid dog would go through. This was easy to fit (my hubby is usless at diy god love him!) All the animals go through it, its very good quality and I feel sure it will last. We undid, easy to do, 5 links from each chain to adjust length, fixed the spare links back togather so we have 2 full lengths if we do damage it. No flies, yipee! Yes it is expensive, but unlike the plastic, bamboo, mesh stuff this is built to last. Love this product, highly recommend.
Our conservatory was a death zone for bees and we bought the screen as a solution. It was very easy to install, 5 wood screws supplied and the rail fitted outside the door. The screen itself slotted into the rail very easily. Total installation time 15 minutes.
The screen can be removed from rail easily and packed away.
No bees or bluebottles have entered the door, but the air circulates and the dog now ignores the chains.
Very pleased with the screen, it is worth the money.
took five screws (supplied) in brick to put this up but in fairness it's beautifully made and should last forever you can take it down without removing the screws chain clips on it is understandably heavy
arrived very fast strong sturdy full aluminium, links all clean so no getting hooked when walk through the fastening on to door frame easy clean looking .if these are a little long for your door <mine fit perfect>it will be simple to cut some links off. measurement sold as is spot on .i do recommend a better screw as the head of 2 of mine rounded out very easily .otherwise cannot praise enough and so pleased i paid a good price for an excellent product.
We have PVC doors so had to install this above the doorframe. It was very easy to fit and then we used pliers to remove links in the chain so that it didn't get caught when the door was closed. The dog goes through without problem and we have had no wasps or flies in the house since fitting it. Having used a more lightweight screen in the past this is a huge improvement and looks as though it should last for years.
I have bought these for my conservatry door. Brilliant i bought cheaper ones last year. But these are very good quality. My dog the last two years has been stung and had to rush to the vets otherwise he would have died. These chain screens are brilliant as the dog went through them straight away. Would certainly recommend these.
I already had two of these curtains in my house so I was pleased that this one happen to be the same as the others I have and was pretty substantial in weight so will not break easily. I use them instead of doors in some places just to separate the rooms and they look very good - especially in silver when the sun or lights shine on them.
