I watched a well known DJ use Serato Scratch live recently. His performance was outstanding.
I have recently started mixing again after a long break. The problem is that fresh tunes are no longer available on vinyl.
After a little reading up and comparing Serato and Traktor I decided to buy the SL2 pack. After a little issue installing the latest version of Scratch live on Windows 7 (which was easily sorted as the issue has been well documented on the Serato website) the system is working perfectly.
I was expecting there to be some latency when cueing up with the control vinyl, and when scratching. There is none whatsoever. The sound quality is also faultless and the software is also very easy to use and is very well presented.
There is a wealth of information and tutorials available on the Serato sire and also on youtube. I found DJ TLMs tutorials particularly helpful.
If, like me you love vinyl, the 1210 and have never really got on with CDJs then this product is an absolute must. It is the best £350 I have spent in ages!
Firstly, the product is pretty easy and quick to install and start using right away accompanied by a great fairly easy to read manual that stacks up the functionality in a natural way, reavealing more and more ways to use Scratch Live. My laptop is below the recommended requirements (1.9Ghz dual core Celeron) but SL2 works fine, no latency peoblems when mixing or scrathcing. In my Opinion. This is the product for the Digital / Analog DJ... Love it
