I like Snoop Dogg for his older music when he was 100% Gangster Rap/Hip-Hop But this album came across to me as a bit more like Hip-Hop and Pop than his older Music. Good album Nonetheless, some good catchy tracks that most people will enjoy.
A good album, lots of tracks and a good mix of styles. The highlights for me are Eyez Closed, Superman & El Lay which show off Snoops laid back funky style. The album has a couple of downsides, firstly and arguably, Wet which for me is just a mainstream pop track made for one purpose and that's to push Snoops name to a new generation. It's bit like Madonna keep re-inventing herself, I'm sure it's good for stackin those P's but for me a over-synthed snoop just comes acrosss as akward and touch cringe worthy. The next gripe is that some tracks take whole lines out of previous tracks, which just smacks of laziness. Still, in all in well worth buying. You just can't resist kicking back, sticking this on and blazing one up.
A cool album with lots of excellent collaborations. Snoop doesn't loose his style and still retains his old magic here, but he lets some interesting influences come through in these tracks. Great value for money and shouldn't disappoint his fans.
