Yes i am biased, I do love everything this band have ever released going back to the debut "Nazareth" to the excellent "Razamanaz,No Mean City,Loud n Proud & Expect No Mercy" The one main difference with these 2 albums was that with 2XS the band were really looking at the aor American market & With Sound Elixir the album never realy got the release & promotion it deserved due to poor relations with the record company. Both offerings are worth investigation, Especially at such a good price. The strongest tracks for me are; Take The Rap & Love Leads To Madness,Games,Dream On(All singles on 2XS) & Whippin Boy,Rags To Riches & Local Still all taken off Sound Elixir.Go on give these a listen,A great band and always worth investigation.

This salvo remaster contains a 2 on 1 collection of 2XS (1982) and SOUND ELIXIR (1983),it would be fair to say neither set the heather alight in the UK,hence not being released as individual discs.

2XS - Despite the title there's nothing done to excess here,a thoroughly nuetered sound rendering this disc bland at times, most songs uninteresting, tracks such as 'Games'/'Take The Rap' just dull. Highlights would be the splendid ballad 'Dream On' while 'Love Leads To Madnress' /'Back To The Trenches' & 'Lonely In The Night' show enough signs of life to make you come back for more. 2.5 stars

SOUND ELIXIR - Certainly the stronger of the 2 albums contained on this cd,slightly less constricting production, highlights would be the infectious toe tappin 'Local Still',the delightful 'Where Are You Now',which could have been directed at their UK fan base..Honourable mentions go to 'Rag To Riches' and 'Whippin Boy' as for the rest nothing special. 3 stars

Approach with caution, not their best albums but for completists a great value for money way to get them

Brilliant Scottish band , vastly under-rated in the 70's . Have a listen and hear what you have missed. Superb album!

This double CD is a big surprise! You get a real variety of music, some tracks are what you would expect from Naz but others show how versatile they are. I have played it to death!

Thanks much to Salvo and AmazonUK for being a lifeline to music...Love these new Nazareth remasters...no bonus tracks on these Two...kind of odd...but they are great non the less! 2XS is a masterpiece...one of my favorite Nazareth releases. Great songs here..once again!!!

Maybe 2-3 average OK songs, total.
Where is the inspiration, the passion, the Nazareth we love?
Don't bother buying it, even for completists...
